Review: In the Highlander's Bed by Cathy Maxwell

I have finally read a book by Cathy Maxwell! Medieval or Highlander romances have left me cold in the past because I just don't care for the violence. Not sure why, but I was compelled to start this book the other day.

It has a great beginning with the hero kidnapping the heroine and the two learning to love each other in the close quarters they share. However, despite our lovers being likable, they never really live up to their potential. Each are strong-willed but become mush after they proclaim their love. Frankly, I would say they are actually boring after a while. The ending was quite cheesy and the epilogue came up short.

I am glad I gave Highlander romances another try. Somehow I think those who read this type regularly will be bored to tears by this one, though. I have some more Maxwell books in my stacks and will get to them some day. It was at least an average book, just not great.
