Despite having many of Lorraine Heath's books, this is only the second one I've read and the first historical. It took me a while to get into it but it was a quick read.Although I liked hero Luke, I don't usually care for stories with such tortured heroes. In fact, so many characters are tortured in this book and it was darker, really, than what I prefer in romances. In the end, I'm still not sure how much I liked the heroine, Catherine. Without giving anything away, I didn't like a choice she made with Luke, based on the circumstances.
I think I read somewhere that this is the beginning of a new series and will feature other characters from this book. I'm not sure how interested I will be in that. The other characters either weren't very likable or were a bit bland.
